Blend'n for venue owners: what your rooms actually did
Venue software reports what was booked and who registered. Blend'n reports who was inside the building — every event at once, counted against your licensed capacity — from a geofence and the phones people already carry. No readers to install, nothing handed out at the door, and nothing to pay.
The number your utilization report is missing
A booking system knows Room B was reserved for 300 and that 280 people registered. So the report says the room worked, the organizer says the room worked, and everyone renews on that basis.
Except registration is a promise. Across more than a thousand live events, Pheedloop's Event Data Lab found a median no-show rate of 20% and a mean of 29%. Free events run at about 28%. And 17% of events lose more than half of the attendance they expected.
Platforms in this space report from that same funnel. Momentus builds space-utilization dashboards from bookings and registration trends, which means the utilization figure inherits the no-show gap.
Blend'n starts somewhere else: a check-in validated against a geofence drawn around your building, with the phone's own reported accuracy folded into the decision. So instead of 280 registered, you get a count of how many were actually inside — and that is the number worth having in front of you at renewal.
The honest caveat, because it matters here too. Our figure counts attendees who checked in on their own phone. Anyone who does not check in is not counted, so it is a strong sample and not a census, and it is not a turnstile count you could hand to a fire officer. Pointing at someone else's measurement error and then overselling ours would be the same mistake.
What you get
Everyone in the building
Two events running at once gives you two correct occupancy figures and no building total. Blend'n counts every body inside — crew included, because a safety headcount counts bodies not job titles — against the capacity your building is licensed for, rather than the sum of the events'.
Utilization per room, from attendance
Which spaces earn their keep and which sit empty on a Friday — computed from check-ins inside the geofence rather than from what was reserved. The two numbers are not the same, and the gap is usually in the room's favour when you are negotiating.
Organizer history across your building
Every event a given organizer has run with you, and how each one actually filled. Useful at renewal, and useful when a new promoter tells you what they can draw.
Ratings that stay with the venue
Feedback attaches to the building rather than to a single event, so it accumulates over time instead of disappearing when the event page does.
Ratings, and why ours are a different thing
Venue ratings already exist in this market. On the Cvent Supplier Network, which lists around 340,000 hotels and venues, the star rating shown on a venue profile is a Northstar rating — assigned by a reviewer and synced into the profile from a third-party feed twice a month.
That is a judgement about the property's quality tier. It is not feedback from the events that happened in it. Blend'n's ratings come from attendees who checked in at your building, and they stay attached to the venue rather than to an event page that disappears.
Worth saying plainly: that network is also a paid marketplace, where venues buy enhanced listings for premium placement in planner searches. Blend'n has no paid placement and no featured listings. There is nothing to buy.
What Blend'n does not do for a venue
Named so you are not disappointed later. Blend'n is not a booking system and not a venue CRM:
- No booking calendar, contracts, invoicing or catering. Momentus and similar systems do this properly and Blend'n does not attempt it.
- No RFP marketplace or lead generation. We will not bring you organizers. That is what the Cvent Supplier Network is for.
- No room diagramming, floor plans or space configuration.
- No heatmaps or dwell time. On the roadmap, not built.
- Occupancy does not fall as people leave yet. The check-out logic exists and is tested on the server, but the app does not send the pings that drive it, so the live figure is cumulative today.
Getting set up
Apply as a venue owner at organizers.blendn.app/apply. You give a registered legal name and verify the domain that shows the building is yours, then a person reviews the application. There is nothing to pay and no card to enter.
The wider comparison against event management platforms is in the comparison guide, and the documentation covers how check-in and the live view work end to end.
Common questions
- Can Blend'n show occupancy across two events running at once?
- Yes. A venue running two events has two correct per-event occupancy figures and no building total. Blend'n reports the building total, counting crew as well as guests, measured against the capacity the building is licensed for rather than the sum of the two events' capacities.
- How is this different from venue management software?
- Venue management platforms such as Momentus report space utilization from bookings and registration trends — what was reserved and who signed up. Blend'n reports check-ins validated against a geofence around your building, so the figure reflects who was actually inside the room.
- What does Blend'n show a venue owner?
- Utilization per room derived from attendance rather than bookings, the history of every organizer who has run an event in your building, and ratings attached to the venue itself so they accumulate across events instead of resetting each time.
- Do I need to install anything in the building?
- No. There are no readers, beacons, cameras, turnstiles or badge printers. Attendees check in on their own phone against a geofence you or the organizer draws around the venue, so nothing is fitted to the building and nothing is handed out at the door.
- How accurate is the attendance figure for a room?
- It counts attendees who checked in on their own phone inside the geofence, which is a strong sample rather than a census. Anyone who does not check in is not counted. Treat it as a commercial and operational number, not one you hand to a fire officer.
- What does it cost a venue?
- Nothing. There are no plans, seats, per-room fees or listing charges, and there is no paid placement. Blend'n is free while in development, and any change will be announced before it takes effect.
